Vaccinations are Important It’s important that children get vaccinated—get their “shots”—so they don’t get childhood diseases. Your child can be vaccinated at the doctor’s office or your local health department. Ask the doctor to give you a list of the shots your child has received. Keep this list so that you have records for school, and so you’ll know if your child needs more shots.
