Hybrid string blossom thinner tested in peach orchards
Peach producers have traditionally relied heavily on hand thinning, a necessary but costly and labor-intensive field practice. Impacted by increasing labor costs and a limited workforce, peach and other stone fruit growers are turning to mechanical methods such as string thinners to minimize the need for hand thinning. A new ”hybrid” string thinner prototype showed promising results when it …

Multiple Sclerosis: AN EXPLOSION OF HOPE. THE ORAL DRUGS ARE ON THE WAY!!!!

2008年12月28日 日曜日

Talking about some new oral drugs for multiple sclerosis that show great promise. My eyes filled with tears as I read about how close research on MS is to actually curing the disease and it starts with effective treatment to modify the disease. Here are the drugs. Please research them. _FAMPRIDINE-SR (to be trade named AMAYA). This drug works by improving nerve conduction causing MS sufferers to walk better, faster, with less difficulty. _Fingolimod (formerly known as experimental drug FTY720). Disease modifying drug that has proven to be superior in efficacy to beta interferon 1a. Tried at 0.5 mg and 1.25 mg in clinical trials. The higher dose had moderate-severe complications like lung infections, macular edema, and reported cases of skin cancer (melanoma); however, the lower dose of 0.5 mg is as effective with less risk for serious complications. (Clinical trials prevent drugs from being marketed before their safety is established) This drug showed in clinical trials that 83% of patients were relapse-free while in the clinical trial. _clabridine (trade name Mylinax). Disease modifyiing drug that supresses the immune system. 90% of neurologists would prescribe this due to the fact that it is as effective as betaferons but with less side effects. BG-12 greatly reduces lesions on MRI. Acts by protecting the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and maintaining myelin (the fatty substance that surrounds nerves) This drug defends against oxidative stress that causes inflammation and

What types of diseases have signs of constant headaches?

2008年12月26日 金曜日

Question by MonkeyMoo*: What types of diseases have signs of constant headaches?
I’ve gotten either a headache or a migraine every day for a couple months now. I’ve also been really sleepy and my eyes hurt a lot with a headache. Is there any diseases or anything that have those signs? Any health problems or defects? Any websites?

Q&A: What is the approximate amount to care for dog diseases such as heart disease, heartworm, or pneumonia?

2008年12月26日 金曜日

Question by a.little.asian: What is the approximate amount to care for dog diseases such as heart disease, heartworm, or pneumonia?
Do you know the approximate amount we would have to pay the vet regularly to help treat dog diseases and conditions? If you own a dog with heart disease, what was the average cost? I have already tried researching it on Google and everything, but I can only find symptoms of these diseases and what you can do. There aren’t many numbers. If you could find a site, that would be great too. Thanks(:

Price ranges are going to vary from one Vet to another. Best thing you can do is call your Vet & ask, the price will also be different depending on the treatment & diagnosis.
